Yesterday, after 8 days of unpaid shifts sometimes lasting 20 hours, the scheduled network shutdown was averted.
40 engineers will be paid to maintain the network while negotiations are finalised.
Apparently there have been several interested parties, and bids have now been taken and accepted. The highest bidder should be announced by the curators in the coming days/week.
Whilst we are still unable to guarantee the connections of our customers (as we would like to), we are very optimistic about a positive outcome to the negotiations to make Ebone, once again, a complete and independent pan-European network. If this is successful, we will surely be able to settle back into the usual routine, guaranteeing connections, and delivering the high quality service that makes our customers happy.
Above all else, we would like to thank our customers for both their understanding, and their complete and genuine support for us during our darkest days. Without you, this fight would have been very difficult to win. Our assets are our customers, as we are theirs. Let's hope we can conclude this soon, now that we see light at the end of the tunnel.
Kind regards,
